Interactive concerts are informal, inspiring performances of familiar American popular music of the 1900s to the 1960s. Interaction, whether singing along, foot-tapping or dancing is warmly encouraged.
They are particularly suitable for seniors, including those with cognitive challenges, many of whom will be familiar with their content. Repertoire types offered include:
- Gems from the Great American Songbook including iconic songs by famous writers such as Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Richard Rodgers.
- Songs and instrumentals from the ragtime era (1900-1920)
- Community-type singalong songs.
- Broadway and movie songs hits
- Pop hits from the 1960s and 1970s
- Folksongs
Programs are individually tailored to the needs, expectations, and functionality of each audience.
